<p>A coating material for use in forming the hard coating layer of an antireflection film. It is characterized by containing an acrylate and a bi- or trifunctional methacrylate as major ingredients, the amount of the bi- or trifunctional methacrylate being 0.5-50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the acrylate.</p>
