<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable diagnosis and recovery even if a computer device cannot be started. <P>SOLUTION: When a USB flash memory 10 is connected to the computer device 20, a starting execution application stored in the USB flash memory 10 is activated, and the compute device 20 is started. After starting, a network set up application stored in the USB flash memory 10 is activated, network set up is carried out, and connection to a user support center 30 is made via a network 100. A test program provided from the user support center 30 is executed, diagnosis on the computer device 20 is carried out, and a diagnosis result is transmitted to the user support center 30.
