摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure measuring apparatus, in the system of measuring blood pressure by winding a cuff round a human body and gradually increasing the cuff pressure, which increases cuff pressure at a constant speed and a target pressurization rate and consequently obtains precise measurement results in the case when cuff capacity varies and both cuff size and human body size range from small to large. <P>SOLUTION: When cuff pressure is increased at a constant speed by controlling an air flow rate to increase cuff pressure by the control of pump pressure, air is discharged from the cuff via a control valve or slow-speed exhaust valve if both cuff size and human body size are so small that the cuff pressure increase speed is larger than a target value despite controlling pump voltage until the flow rate becomes minimum. If the cuff pressure increase speed is smaller than the target value, air discharge from the cuff is restricted. Thus, the required flow rate for increasing the cuff pressure at a constant speed V can agree with the flow rate Q discharged from the pump.
