PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an elastic contact piece surely from being damaged due to interference with a fixture. SOLUTION: A female terminal fitting 10 is equipped with a cylindrical main body part 20 in which both of front and rear faces are opened by two pairs of opposing side walls 21, 22, 23, and 24. In a first side wall 21, an elastic contact piece 30 is formed in an elastically bendable manner, while the front face aperture of the main body part 20 is partially closed by a pair of protection walls 37L, 37R which are continuously arranged from second and third side walls 22, 23 and in front of the elastic contact piece 30. In the main body part 20, a pair of support parts 41L, 41R are formed by bending and raising inside in an arc shape the cut pieces 41BL, 41BR between slits 43L, 43R which are cut into the second and third side walls 22, 23, while free ends of both support parts 41L, 41R hit upon rear faces of respectively corresponding protection walls 37L, 37R.
