PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store and dispense rejected coins. SOLUTION: The coin depositing and dispensing device is provided with a reject hole 62, which is formed at the downstream of a detection part 55 detecting authenticity determination information of a coin for dropping a coin with the largest diameter conveyed at the upstream of a selection part 11 selecting a coin, a shutter 63 freely opening/closing to support a coin with a smallest diameter positioned in the reject hole 62 to pass therethrough, a first coin storage part 14 storing a coin selected by the selection part 11, and a second coin storage part 71 storing a coin dropped from the reject hole 62. A drive source for the shutter 63 is driven and controlled so that the shutter 63 is opened when it is determined that a coin is a false one according to a detection result by the detection part 55. According to a coin dispensing instruction, a drive source for a first discharge part 15 is driven and controlled so that a coin in the first coin storage part 14 is dispensed. According to a rejected coin dispensing instruction, a drive source for a second dispensing part 15 is driven and controlled so that a rejected coin stored in the second coin storage part 71 is dispensed.
