PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detecting apparatus which is unaffected by magnetic fields, even when equipment that employs a magnet is disposed around it. SOLUTION: The rotation angle detecting apparatus comprises a first substrate 7 with an acceleration sensor 11, a conversion mechanism for converting the rotational motion of a steering shaft 30 into swinging motion of the first substrate 7, and a control device 13 which processes the output signal of the acceleration sensor 11 accompanying tilting of the first substrate 7 swung through the converting mechanism and obtains a rotation angle of the steering shaft 30.
