PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption chiller/heater and its control method capable of improving the efficiency of a system as a whole throughout the year, and reducing an initial installation cost. SOLUTION: This absorption chiller/heater has a temperature sensor St disposed in a region from an air conditioning load 7 of a cold water line Lw toward an evaporator 5 and measuring a water temperature (cold water inlet temperature Tch), and a control means 10, and the control means 10 is constituted to perform the control to increase the input to a heating means 6 for heating a regenerator 2, when a state that the water temperature Tch measured by the temperature sensor St is over a threshold value, is continued for more than a prescribed time (T1 seconds) (when air conditioning load Q is over a rated output).
