PURPOSE:To cause the passage of vehicles to be smooth in the entrance and exit of a toll road by utilizing an on-vehicle responding device, which transmits the identifying data of the self-vehicle with a radio waves, and a road side radio to be provided in the rode side of the toll road, independently confirming the vehicle to pass the toll road and separately causing the owner of the vehicle to pay a passage charge. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle 2 comes over the entrance gate or exit gate of the toll road and a commanding signal, which is outputted from a road side radio 1 to be provided in the road side, is received by a responding device 4 which is mounted on the vehicle 2, the responding device 4 to be mounted on the vehicle 2 outputs the identifying data (number plate data, for example) of the self vehicle. The outputted identifying data are received in the road side radio 1 and given to a passage charge calculating means 7. Accordingly, the passage charge of the vehicle is calculated based on the received identifying data. Thus, the charge payment in the toll road can be automated. |
