A ballistic/blast resistant container is disclosed. The ballistic/blast resistant container includes a polymer resin layered with ballistic/blast resistant fiber which may be molded. The ballistic/blast resistant container includes an outer container and an inner container having a funnel shape. The outer container may be filled with a fluid in surrounding relationship to the inner container. A method of providing a ballistic/blast resistant container includes the steps of providing a mold specific to the container, spraying a silicon-based mold release agent on the mold to facilitate removal of the ballistic/blast resistant container, spraying a polymer resin to 1/8 of an inch thickness on the mold, spraying a spray adhesive over the polymer resin, successively layering ballistic/blast resistant fiber over the polymer resin using successive applications of spray adhesive to achieve an overall thickness of 1/4 of an inch thickness, an spraying 1/8 of an inch layer of polymer resin on the layers of ballistic/blast resistant fibers. The polymer resign can be impregnated before or after application with various material such as aramid fiber (Kevlar®), aramid fiber composites, Teflon fibers, boron composites, unidirectional fiber composite materials, vulcanized urethane 3000 denier aramid composites, and unidirectional fiber/flexible resin composites.
