<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is low in cost and that does not cause a deterioration in the quality of an output image even when there are small vibrations when attaching or detaching the sheet supply trays. <P>SOLUTION: When the attachment or detachment of the sheet feeding tray is detected during execution of a first mode, conveyance of the original document and reading of the image of the original document are stopped, the image data of the original document image whose reading has been stopped is deleted from a storage section, and the original document whose reading has been stopped is conveyed in a reverse direction to the starting position of the conveyance to be read again. When the attachment or detachment of the sheet feeding tray is detected during execution of a second mode, scanning by the scanning unit of a reading section and the reading of the original document image by the reading section are stopped, the image data of original document image whose reading has been stopped is deleted from the storage section, and the scanning unit of the reading section is moved to a home position to perform reading again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
