<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor excellent in productivity and capable of preventing the deterioration of the waterproof function of an air passing part with the elapse of time. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 has a sensor element 10, a housing 11, an atmosphere side cover 2, a lead wire 12 and an elastic member 3. The elastic member 3 is provided with a vertical hole 30, a communication part 31 and a lead insertion hole 32. A cylindrical air passing filter 5 in which a support 4 having air permeability is inserted and fitted is inserted in the vertical hole 30 to be held therein. The air passing filter 5 is held to the state held between the elastic member 3 and the support 4 under pressure. The atmosphere side cover 2 has caulking parts 20 for caulking the elastic member 3 in its diametric direction at a plurality of places in its axial direction and is constituted by providing the air introducing port 21 communicating with the communication part 31 of the elastic member 3 between the caulking parts 20 at a plurality of places. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
