PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide parking assistance by the optimum method in every parking place. SOLUTION: The parking assistance device is mounted on the vehicle and can assist parking of the vehicle by a plurality kinds of parking assistance methods. In a memory part, position information of the parking place, azimuth of the vehicle at parking and the parking assistance method are memorized in every parking place. At movement of the vehicle, the position information of the vehicle and the azimuth of the vehicle are obtained. At parking, it is determined whether or not the present position of the vehicle corresponds to the parking place registered in the memory part based on the position information and the azimuth while checking to the memory part.
