PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature suppressing deterioration of performance by suppressing reduction of a cross section of a magnetic circuit by forming weight insertion holes 21 in an armature core 16. SOLUTION: A plurality of weight insertion holes 21 are formed on an inner peripheral side in the radial direction from a slot 19. The weight insertion hole 21 is formed in a flat rectangular shape whose width in a circumferential direction is large and whose width in the radial direction is small. A balance weight 20 is inserted into the selected weight insertion hole 21, according to the unbalance position and unbalance amount of the armature which are previously measured. Since the weight insertion hole 21 is formed in the rectangular shape whose width in the circumferential direction is larger than that of the radial direction and whose cross section shape is flat, the width in the radial direction of the weight insertion hole 21 can be made small, as much as possible. Consequently, reduction in the cross section of the magnetic circuit by forming the weight insertion hole 21 in the armature core 16 can be suppressed, and deterioration in the performance of the motor can be suppressed.
