PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness when data is recorded. SOLUTION: A data recorder is provided with a reproducing part 15 reproduction data input from the outside, a control part 11 controlling a recording medium 19 to record data, an instruction part 14 receiving recording data specifying information specifying recording data recorded in a recording medium 17 and stop instruction information stopping reproduction and recording of data, and a control part 11 in which when data reproduced by a reproducing part 15 is recorded in a recording medium 19 and the stop instruction information is received by the instruction part 14, it is determined based on the recording data specifying information whether reproduction of data corresponding to the recording data specifying information is completed or not, when determined that reproduction of data corresponding to the recording data specifying information is completed, reproduction of data by the reproducing part 15 is stopped, and recording of data by the recording part 17 is stopped.
