PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of image display direction control in an image display device of a directivity display system. SOLUTION: The light shielding portion 111 of a parallax barrier 110 is projectingly formed on the upper polarizing plate side. The bottom surface of the light shielding portion 111 is formed in the shape of an isosceles triangle in which the parallel side 150a in the X direction of a filter facing surface 150 is a base and the angleθ1 between a straight line D1 connecting the end portion P of a field-of-view range AR and the edge portion F of an aperture 112b for guiding light to the end portion P and the filter facing surface 150 is a base angle. When the light shielding portion 111 is configured like this, light W5 emitted from a first B subpixel 302 adjacent to a second R subpixel 303 is interrupted by a light shielding portion 111c, so that the light W5 is not viewed by a user in a field-of-view position L on the side of a visual directionβoutside the field-of-view range AR. Thus, it can be suppressed that a first image is viewed by the user on the side of the visual directionβ, so that it can be suppressed that an image to be displayed in one visual direction is viewed by the user in the other visual direction.
