PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine in which the malfunction of a throttle valve is suppressed. SOLUTION: In this engine, a throttle body 5 is disposed alongside a cylinder head 4, and an air cleaner 6 is disposed alongside the throttle body 5. The air cleaner 6 comprises an air filter case 6a near the throttle body 5 and a case cover 6b detachably fitted to the side of the air filter case 6a. A body forward space 5b along the front wall 5a of the throttle body 5 is covered by the front part 6c of the case cover 6b from the forward diagonal side of the body forward space by projecting the front part 6c of the case cover 6b to the front of the air filter case 6a.
