<p>An apparatus and a method for calculating APs(Access Probabilities), an RNC(Radio Network Controller) using the same, and a communication system using the same are provided to suppress the occurrence of line congestion or collisions due to responses and secure a sufficient number of responses in a short time by applying a suitable calculation formula to update an AP according to the number of responses. In a communication system where an identical AP is transmitted to a plurality of terminals and the terminals report their status information to the communication network according to the AP, an apparatus for calculating APs comprises a selection unit(3) and a calculation unit(4). The selection unit selects either a first calculation formula(1) or a second calculation formula(2) according to the number of responses from terminals. In this case, the first calculation formula is used to gradually increase the AP, and the second calculation formula is used to calculate the AP with the previous AP and the number of responses for the previous AP. The calculation unit calculates the AP according to a selected calculation formula.</p> |
