REGENERATION METHOD OF CATALYST FOR PRODUCING epsilon-CAPROLACTAM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING epsilon-CAPROLACTAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce ε-caprolactam in a high yield over a long period of time by effectively enhancing the activity of a zeolite catalyst used in the Beckman rearrangement reaction of cyclohexanone oxime to regenerate and reuse the zeolite catalyst.

SOLUTION: The zeolite catalyst used in the Beckman rearrangement reaction of cylohexanone oxime is brought into contact with a gas containing an alcohol, tertiary amine and water to regenerate the catalyst for producing ε-caprolactam and cylohexanone oxime is subjected to Beckman rearrangement reaction in the presence of the thus regenerated catalyst.
