<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen separation membrane, which has excellent hydrogen separation performance and hydrogen embrittlement resistance, and is usable under a high temperature for a long time period by using no Pd that is an expensive noble metal. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen separation membrane is shaped into a thin strip by roll-cooling molten alloy represented, in atomic%, by a composition formula Nb<SB>100-(α+β+γ)</SB>X<SB>α</SB>Y<SB>β</SB>Z<SB>γ</SB>(wherein X is one or more member selected from the group constituted of Ti, Zr and Hf, Y is one or more member selected from the group constituted of Ni, Co, Cr and Fe, Z is one or more member selected from the group constituted of Ta, V, Al and Mn, 10≤α≤60, 10≤β≤50, 0≤γ≤5, α+β+γ≤80, including inevitable impurities), and has a crystalline structure having a dendrite phase or Nb as a main component, and an average particle size (dc) of a primary crystal of 10 μm or smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
