<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity of an optical pickup for selective recording and reproducing on various kinds of optical disks. <P>SOLUTION: This optical pickup 20 has an optical pickup base 21 disposed to be radially movable on a selected optical disk D, an optical pickup mover 31 moving along a slide shaft 33 between first and second recording and reproducing positions on the optical pickup base 21 in the tangential direction crossing the radial direction of the disk D, drivers 36, 37 attached to the optical pickup base 21 to move an optical pickup mover 31, a first objective lens assembly 60A including a first objective lens 62A, and a second objective lens assembly 60B including a second objective lens 62B.
