<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an adverse effect on the overall throughput of a repeater due to update of an FDB. <P>SOLUTION: Area information showing areas of destinations, destination information and transfer conditions are stored in association with each other for every destination information to be contained in a frame, and the area information given to information to be erased from a transfer-condition storage section are stored as erasing-area information. When the transfer conditions corresponding to the destination information contained in the receiving frame are retrieved from the transfer-condition storage section, areas given the erasing-area information stored in an erasing-area information storage section are excluded from retrieval and the transfer conditions are retrieved.
