PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber fusion-splicer capable of suppressing a connection defect of an optical fiber even when operation is carried out outdoors. SOLUTION: The optical fiber fusion splicer 1 has a main body 2 having a housing 3 having an opening atop, a panel 4 provided covering the top of the housing 3 and having a fitting-in hole 14 at the center portion, and a fusion-bonding part 5 for fusion-bonding bare optical fibers 16a fitted in the fit-in hole 14 of the panel 4 to each other by discharge heating, and a wind-proof cover 6 fitted pivotally to the main body 2 to cover the panel 4 and fusion-bonding part 5. An air vent 21 communicating with the internal space in the housing 3 is bored in the panel. Air blown in the housing 3 is dispersed to not only the fit-in hole 14, but also the air vent 21. Consequently, a flow of air blown from the housing 3 to the fit-in hole 14 is reducible and the fusion bonding part 5 fitted in the fit-in hole 14 is less affected by the flow of air from the housing 3.
