PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device capable of detecting the abnormality of an LED in an LED series circuit and of lighting control over the LED series circuit. SOLUTION: A constant current generating unit 12 generates a direct constant current based on dc power supply from a power source 11. When constant current from the constant current generating unit 12 is supplied to LED series circuits 13 and 14, a reference value setting unit 17 stores therein an initial LED voltage generated at a plurality of LEDs in the LED series circuits 13 and 14.
