PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain satisfactory cleaning performance for a wire member while achieving the longer life of a cleaning member. SOLUTION: A cleaning device includes: the three or more cleaning members 2 for cleaning the wire member 11, the three or more cleaning members being separately disposed along a longitudinal direction of the wire member 11; a wire material contact separation mechanism 3 that moves at least one of the cleaning members 2 so as to contact all of the cleaning members 2 with the wire member 11 or separate all of the cleaning members 2 from the wire member 11; and a cleaning and moving mechanism 4 that moves all of the cleaning members 2 along the longitudinal direction of the wire member 11 in a state where all of the cleaning members 2 are contacted with the wire member 11 by the wire member contact separation mechanism 3. The three or more cleaning members 2 include a pair of side cleaning members 2a and 2b and an intermediate cleaning member 2c, the side cleaning members 2a and 2b being spaced at a predetermined distance in the longitudinal direction of the wire member 11, and the intermediate cleaning member being disposed at a side opposite from the pair of side cleaning members 2a and 2b via the wire member 11 and disposed between the side cleaning members 2a and 2b in the longitudinal direction of the wire member 11.
