PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the separation of cells in a cell-separating region, based on the results of the decision of an image obtained in the cell detection region of a cell sorter, obtained by using a flowing passage formed on a substrate plate. SOLUTION: Both of the cells are discriminated by noticing the smoothness of surfaces of the actual material images of myocardial cells and fibroblasts, or the complexity of the structure of central parts and by using them as indices. As one of implementations, the image is handled as pixels obtained by dividing the image in X and Y axial directions each by suitable numbers, and both cells are discriminated from the results of performing a binalization treatment of each of the pixels, by comparing the brightness of each of them with prescribed thresholds.
