PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new actuator as a position controlling mechanism, and an image projection device using the new actuator. SOLUTION: The actuator 10 has: a casing 11; a motor 22; a final worm gear 26 receiving rotary drive force from the motor 22 and rotatable; and a projection shaft 31 equipped with gear grooves engaging with a screw gear part of the final worm gear 26 and capable of projecting with rotation of the final worm gear 26. The motor 22 and the final worm gear 26 are constructed as an integral member and form a drive unit 21 and the drive unit 21 is constructed to be movable in the casing 11. A stopper member 35 is installed in the casing 11 for pressing the drive unit 21 and the drive unit 21 is always pressed by the stopper member 35. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
