PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate fiber which has controlled transparency and is excellent in strength and stretch elasticity, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber whose core portion comprises an elastomer resin (A) having a stretch elasticity and whose sheath portion comprises an elastomer resin (B) having a stretch elasticity, a permanent elongation of 25-70% and a tensile elongation of 100-800% is characterized in that the value of the surface roughness (Rz) of the sheath portion is adjusted to≤2μm.
