PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die stable in mechanical precision and enabling a precise coated film thickness control, a die-method coating device, and a coating method, in a coating process for applying a coating liquid to a long strip-shaped web by using a die. SOLUTION: A die body 15 is constituted of a straight block 18, a liquid reserving block 19 arranged oppositely to the straight block 18, and a height block 20 sandwiched by the respective blocks 18 and 19, and determining slot width D based on the block width T of the slot 24 to the lateral direction; and constituted so that the slot width D (groove width) of the die 2 can be changed to an optional length without exchanging the whole of the die 2, by replacing the height block 20 with another kind of block.
