PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoisting machine capable of efficiently radiating the heat generated by a built-in inverter and the heat generated by a resistor for the regenerative braking with a simple constitution, and achieving highly frequent operation. SOLUTION: The hoisting machine comprises a motor 41 for elevating/lowering cargoes, a deceleration mechanism, and a resistor 70 for the regenerative braking. The motor 41 for elevating/lowering cargoes is driven by an inverter 12 built in a hoisting machine body, the current generated by the motor for elevating/lowering cargoes when lowering the cargoes runs in the resistor 70 for the regenerative braking to apply the regenerative braking. The inverter 12 is brought into surface contact with a deceleration mechanism casing 15 and fitted thereto, and the heat generated by the inverter 12 is radiated to the deceleration mechanism casing 15.
