PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to ride onto a step and to run on a grating stably. SOLUTION: A sleigh member 8 for having a front wheel caster 7 ride onto a step (d) is provided to an installation shaft 5 provided for right and left frames 1, 1 of the wheelchair so that the member 8 cannot change the direction. Since the sleigh member does not rotate, it easily rides onto the step from the oblique direction. In running on the grating, even when the front wheel caster moves right and left little by little on undulations surface of the grating, the immovable sleigh member is abutted to the grating upper surface to suppress the movement of the wheelchair to the right and left little by little and secures a stable run. When the sleigh member is abutted to the step, a coil spring 6 is compressed to absorb a shock due to the abutting and a comfortable ride can be provided. When only one side sleigh member rides onto the step, the coil spring on the same side is compressed considerably, so that the wheelchair does not incline. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
