PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording unit equipped with a ramp-load mechanism which can quickly load/unload a magnetic head at an arbitrary position with a simple structure and prevents a dead zone of an information area from being formed due to overlap of the ramp section on a magnetic disk when loaded. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording unit 50 comprises a magnetic head 53, and the ramp section 63 for retracting the magnetic head 53, and the ramp section 63 is mounted turnably on the magnetic recording unit 50. When the magnetic head 53 is loaded from the ramp section 63, which is positioned on the turning direction of the magnetic head 53 above the magnetic disk 52, to the arbitrary position on the magnetic disk 52, the ramp section 63 turns and positions outside the outer circumference of the magnetic disk 52.
