Described herein are environmentally isolated tissue culture devices that may be used for cell culture. A tissue culture device is disclosed comprising: a multi-well plate comprising a plurality of wells, wherein each well is shaped to accommodate at least two insertable tubes; a first nutrient feed manifold comprising a plurality of individual well feed lines, said first manifold positioned above the wells and aligned such that each well feed line extends to a position adjacent a bottom of a well; a second waste removal manifold comprising a plurality of individual waste removal lines, said second manifold positioned above the wells and aligned such that each waste removal line extends to a position adjacent the bottom of the well, wherein the waste feed line extends to a point slightly elevated from the well feed line; a first inlet in the first manifold for providing nutrients; and a second inlet in the second manifiold for removing waste. The tissue culture may further comprise a a micro-heater comprising an optically transparent electrically conductive coating on the optically transparent base. A temperature controlled lid comrpising inlets for gas diffusion is also provided. |
