An air conditioner (1) has a fan unit (4) and an air conditioning unit (5). The fan unit (4) has fan cases (9, 10) that define a pair of independent scroll chambers (6, 7) and a pair of fans (9, 10) that are individually arranged in the pair of scroll chambers (6, 7). The air conditioning unit (5) has an air conditioner case (13) that defines an airflow path (P) in which air from the fan unit (4) is allowed to flow and also has air conditioning components (14, 15, 17) that are arranged in the airflow path (P) and through which the air from the fan unit (4) is caused to pass to perform air conditioning. The air conditioner has a partition section (25) for partitioning that portion (P1) of the airflow path (P) which is from an inlet (PO) up to the air conditioning component (14) on the uppermost stream section. The portion (P1) is partitioned into a pair of independent paths (P1a, P1b). The pair of independent paths (P1a, P1b) is connected to exits (6b, 7b) of the pair of scroll chambers, respectively.
