<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter suppressing evaporation and excellent in biocompatibility while maintaining a required expansion diameter during the period of being placed inside a body by paying attention to the fact that an injected liquid filler evaporates from a lumen communicated with a balloon part provided inside the catheter to the atmosphere (to the outside of the body in many cases) while conventionally it is thought that the balloon is contracted because the liquid filler escapes from the balloon itself, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: For the balloon catheter, a balloon member is attached near the distal end of a catheter member provided with a proximal end and the distal end, and a silicon oxide film is formed on at least a part of the outer surface of the catheter member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
