PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of correcting the distortion of images generated when photographing a moving object without losing sharpness. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging element for outputting pixel data by successively scanning pixels; an imaging control part 2 for generating a plurality of images by controlling the output of the pixel data and reading the pixel data from the imaging element in respectively different scanning directions; a distortion detection part 3 for detecting the distortion of the images due to the movement of an object from the plurality of images; and a correction part 4 for correcting the distortion in at least one of the plurality of images from the information of the distortion.
