PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cache device capable of for placing intended data in the neighborhood of an arithmetic unit for an intended period, and accessing the intended data inexpensively when an access request to memory data is generated. SOLUTION: A cache with a multilevel structure comprises a high speed Static RAM(static RAM) with small capacity placed in the neighborhood of an arithmetic unit 10, and a portion of the RAM called a normal primary cache 20 is divided into a cache area 21, and the other is divided into a local memory 22 so as to be used. Then, the local memory 22 is divided into two, and the same data are stored in each of the memory areas, and the data are doubled in order to collateralize the RAS function of the local memory divided so as to be used. The mechanism of an unavailable cache tag is diverted to error management in the local memory area 22, and correct information is always acquired from the duplexed data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
