PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent slide failure in a guide shaft due to cured ink with no ink cure even when ink mist sticks to the slide surface to a carriage. SOLUTION: The recording device 100 is equipped with guide shafts 132, 134 extending in a fixed direction, a recording section carriage 170 moving along the guide shafts, a recording head 180 mounted to the recording carriage for ejecting an ultraviolet ray curing type ink, and an ultraviolet ray irradiation section 162 for irradiating the ink ejected from the recording head and sticking to a sheet of recording paper 150 with ultraviolet rays. The recording device further includes supply sections 310, 320 for coating a polymerization inhibitor on the slide surface sliding with respect to the recording section carriage in the guide shaft while holding the polymerization inhibitor for inhibiting the polymerization of ink and moving together with the recording section carriage, and a supply section 210 for supplying the polymerization inhibitor with respect to the supply section.
