Provided are a method and apparatus for controlling an electronic apparatus, including a user input unit which includes a plurality of user input keys to receive user input signals; a control unit which determines which user input keys can be operated from among the plurality of user input keys based on arrangement information of at least one piece of selection information displayed on a screen and selected in response to a user input signal and provides information about the determined user input keys; and a transmitting unit which transmits identification information identifying the user input key, wherein when one of the determined user input keys is selected, the control unit controls the transmitting unit to transmit the identification information to the electronic apparatus so that selection information corresponding to a position of the selected user input key can be selected from the pieces of selection information displayed on the screen. |
