A voice decoding device based on a microcontroller and a method for decoding voice data using the same are provided to improve the performance since the central processing part of the microcontroller processes non voice data as well as voice data. A voice decoding device based on a microcontroller comprises a bus(310) for transmitting data, a decoder(320) connected to the bus, a microcontroller(330), an external memory(340), and a serial peripheral interface(350). The microcontroller connected to the bus processes data. The external memory stores voice and non voice data on the outside of the microcontroller. The serial peripheral interface connects the microcontroller with the external memory.
