<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus, capable of creating a calendar in response to the various demands of a user. <P>SOLUTION: A calendar creating section 8c of the image forming apparatus 1 adjusts the density of a background image in a background image storage section 7a in response to an instruction of the user, and superimposes the character strings indicating a calendar in a basic calendar information storage section 7b over the background image.
