<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a light-emitting diode with which the luminance of the light-emitting diode can be adjusted, and to provide a light source whose luminance can be homogenized. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a light-emitting diode is a manufacturing method of a light-emitting diode which consists of a light-emitting diode chip sealed with resin. This manufacturing method comprises a resin-preparing process wherein resins are prepared which are ranked in a plurality of levels, depending on the content of an inorganic substance having a high hiding ratio and a high reflection factor; a luminance measuring process wherein the luminance of the light-emitting diode chip is measured, in a state of a chip and then is ranked; a resin selecting process wherein a resin is selected among the ranked resins according to the luminance level of the light-emitting diode chip; and a sealing process, wherein the light-emitting diode chip is sealed with the selected resin into the light-emitting diode. In selecting the resin in the resin selecting process, a resin containing less amount of the inorganic substance is selected for the light-emitting diode chip having low luminance, and a resin containing a large amount of the inorganic substance is selected for the light-emitting diode chip having high luminance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
