PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user with a positional information providing system having a simple system configuration. SOLUTION: This positional information providing system 1 is equipped with: a light source part 3 disposed at a prescribed part of an installation while transmitting positional information P for specifying a position as a visible light signal; and a portable terminal 4 receiving the light signal from the source part 3. Map information T on the installation is displayed on a display part 42 provided on the portable terminal 4.
