PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head maintenance device which can perform an effective maintenance without causing the device to be enlarged when a recording head is maintained by using a sheet ink absorbing member, and an inkjet recording device. SOLUTION: The head maintenance device 12 performing maintenance of an ink discharge surface 9 having nozzles 8 of a recording head 5 and ink outlet 8a of the nozzles 8 formed thereon, has an ink absorbing member 15 absorbing at least ink, and a pressing member 30 having a roller member 31 formed of an elastic material and making the ink absorbing member 15 contact with an ink discharge surface 9 by pressing the ink absorbing member from the side opposite to the side making contact with the ink discharge face 9 and having a groove 37 on the face keeping contact with the ink absorbing member 15 and is rotatably formed and a shaft member 32 pivoting the roller member 31.
