PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely land an idle ejection liquid droplet without increasing size even when the number of nozzles is increased. SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, a rotating body 50 on which the liquid droplets idle-ejected from a recording head 24 and not contributing to image formation impact is arranged in an idle ejection receiver 43, and this rotating body 50 is arranged so that its rotating shaft direction (an axial line 50a) is made to the same direction as the direction along the nozzle row 32 of the recording head 24. In addition, a scraping member 51 for scraping ink 60 reaching the rotating body 50, sticking there and to be abandoned is arranged on the lower side of the rotating body 50.
