PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon cassette for use in a printing device, which is prevented from the double feeding of an ink ribbon even if the ink ribbon is extended in order to extend the life of the ribbon. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the ink ribbon cassette, a vertical sluice 2 is formed in the vicinity of the exit of the ink ribbon 3 of an ink ribbon storage section 6. The vertical sluice 2 has a width which allows the ink ribbon 3 to pass therethrough and becomes narrower at a location close to a traveling downstream side, and uniformly extends from a sluice 4a of a lower cover 12 to a sluice 4b of an upper cover 11. Alternatively, double sluices 26a, 26b protruding from the lower cover 12 and the upper cover 11 are formed in the ink ribbon traveling passage 25 formed in an ink ribbon storage section 6.
