PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object inspecting apparatus which analyzes the presence or absence of an inner air vessel, variations in partition thicknesses and distortions of a three-dimensional object, and to provide a defective object sorting system for sorting out a defective object. SOLUTION: An image reading glass plane 11 of a vertical type scanner 10 is arranged vertically. A weightometer 20 is arranged so as to be ahead of the vertical type scanner 10. The three-dimensional object such as an object material to be inspected is mounted on a metering plate 21 of the weightometer 20, such that a vertical cross section of the three-dimensional object is on a prescribed position ahead of the image reading glass plane 11. In the state of the three-dimensional object on the prescribed position, at least the center of gravity of the three-dimensional object is positioned on the weightometer 20, and a focal point of the vertical type scanner 10 is adjusted so as to be not on the image reading glass plane 11 but on the vertical cross section of the three-dimensional object. Image information of the vertical cross section and weight information of the three-dimensional object are acquired, and a length value is measured by rotating the three-dimensional object through 90 degrees, and a value of weight per unit length is calculated.
