PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap, facilitating cap removal work, easily removed even when it is inserted in a pipe up to the face of an end plate as a component of a heat exchanger, and restraining lowering of productivity. SOLUTION: This cap 1 includes: a cylindrical part 2 with one end face sealed and the other end face opened; and a projecting part 4 projected outward from the opening face 3a of the cylindrical part 2 toward the sealing end 5 over a portion located inside. A groove 6 is provided extending from a boundary part between the circumference of the opening face 3a of the cylindrical part 2 and the projecting part 4 toward the sealing end 5 of the cylindrical part 2 with a thin part left on the outer periphery of the cylindrical part 2, whereby the projecting part 4 can be held and pulled to simply tear the thin part 7, so that the removal work for the cap 1 can be facilitated, and in removing the cap 1, lowering of productivity can be restrained even when the cap is inserted in the pipe up to the face of the end plate.
