PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing overflowing of defrost water from an evaporation pan and having high efficiency in evaporation of defrost water. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises a three-way valve 24 disposed on a connecting portion of a dipped pipe 9 and a radiator 10, a branch pipe 23 disposed on a connecting portion of a suction pipe of a compressor 7 and a suction pipe 14, and a three-way valve opening and closing means 25 for opening and closing the three-way valve 24, thus the overflowing of defrost water from the evaporation pan 17 can be prevented, and the efficiency in evaporation of defrost water can be improved.
