PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the shape of a lead groove, and enable an increase in the number of shift stages, while evading upsizing a shift-drum in a vehicle transmission wherein a plurality of positioning notches are provided on the outer circumference of a shift drum-center fixed coaxially to the shift drum having the lead groove formed on the outer circumference, and a drum-stopper arm which is selectively locked in the positioning notch is intermittently rotatively driven. SOLUTION: Of a plurality of positioning notches S<SB>N</SB>, S<SB>1-2</SB>, S<SB>2-3</SB>, S<SB>3-4</SB>, S<SB>4-5</SB>, S<SB>5</SB>, S<SB>R</SB>, positioning notches S<SB>N</SB>, S<SB>1-2</SB>, S<SB>2-3</SB>, S<SB>3-4</SB>, S<SB>4-5</SB>, excepting at least two specified positioning notches S<SB>5</SB>, S<SB>R</SB>, are respectively evenly spaced; specified positioning notches S<SB>5</SB>, S<SB>R</SB>, are spaced differently from the spaces of other positioning notches S<SB>N</SB>, S<SB>1-2</SB>, S<SB>2-3</SB>, S<SB>3-4</SB>, S<SB>4-5</SB>between the mutual notches and between the other positioning notches S<SB>N</SB>, S<SB>1-2</SB>, S<SB>2-3</SB>, S<SB>3-4</SB>, S<SB>4-5</SB>.
