PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a notch cutter mechanism capable of forming a notch cut exactly at a right position in the vicinity of the center of a package finished in a simple structure and unnecessitating position-adjusting work. SOLUTION: The notch cutter mechanism is incorporated into a side seal bar 7 of a rotary type automatic packaging machine. While the side seal is applied to a package film, the notch cutter gets in contact with a notch cam to push a push pin 32 toward the center of a turntable. As a result, a notch blade 38 of the push pin jumps out of the surface of the side seal bar 30 on the movable side to form the notch cut in the vicinity of the center of the side seal of the package film clamped by the side seal bar 31 on the fixed side and the side seal bar 30 on the movable side.
